Messages are transmitted via the Globalstar low-earth orbit satellite network, using an uplink-only connection (one-way data transmission).
Multiple messages are sent over several minutes at each transmission interval to ensure reception. Once the Globalstar system confirms a message it ensures repeats are deleted for efficiency. The customer only pays for first confirmed message.
